Step 01
Get In Touch
Due to the personal service I provide, and the value I place on meaningful connection, I can only take on a small number of weddings each year. This means I’m very intentional about the projects I commit to.
To help me understand your vision and ensure we’re a perfect fit, I’d encourage you to include as much detail as possible in your initial enquiry, especially key details like your wedding date, ceremony departure time, venue, and approximate numbers for hair and makeup. I’ll respond as quickly as possible to confirm my availability.
Step 02
Consultation Call
I want you to feel comfortable, informed, and completely at ease, so your journey with me begins with a consultation call. You’ll be able to ask questions, share your wedding plans, and discuss which of my services best suits your needs. Don’t worry if you’re in a different time zone. Let me know your availability, and I’ll offer alternative appointments to suit you.
Step 03
Personalised Proposal
Based on your consultation, I’ll prepare a personalised proposal outlining the services I’d recommend and any optional extras you may wish to include. To secure your date, a 25% booking fee will be required, based on the total quoted amount. Depending on the location of your celebration, your remaining balance will be due 8-12 weeks before your wedding date.
Step 04
Welcome to the Jessica Hawkins Experience
Once your booking has been confirmed, you’ll receive access to your private client portal where you can book your trial, complete your pre-trial questionnaire, and immerse yourself in the Jessica Hawkins experience. From this point on, everything is designed to feel seamless, supportive, and personal to you.
Step 05
Get Inspired
Alongside your private client portal, you’ll receive a personalised welcome packet in the mail. Thoughtfully designed to kick-start the creative process before we meet, it includes helpful information and ideas for you to consider in the run-up to your trial.
Your Hair & Makeup Trial
If you’re based in the UK, trials are usually held in my garden studio in Whitstable, two to four months before your celebration. I also have plenty of experience working with overseas brides to finalise their look 1-2 days before their wedding. If we’re unable to meet in person, I’m always happy to organise a video call via Zoom or Skype. Taking place roughly four weeks before your destination wedding, this is a great way for us to get to know each other. It will also help me get a feel for what you want before we meet in person.
Every trial is a creative collaboration. You can expect expert guidance, a little artistry, and lots of discussion. Think of it as a working session, much like a bespoke dress fitting. It’s not just about the end result – it’s about building your ideal look together.
If you leave your trial 80% happy, that’s a great place to be. Why? Because the final 20% – maybe it’s a different shade of lipstick or a subtle twist on your eye makeup – is the part we refine together. It’s all part of the creative process, and you can trust me to grasp your personal vision, enhance your natural beauty, and ensure you feel like the most confident version of yourself on your wedding day.
Your Wedding Day
Prior to your celebration, I’ll send a detailed schedule so you know exactly what to expect. On the day itself, I’ll arrive at our agreed time to set-up and get organised. If I’m working with my team, they’ll have all the important details and information to ensure the morning runs as smoothly as possible. Your only job is to relax and enjoy your wedding morning. I’ll make sure the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and calm, with just the right amount of fun for you and your bridal party.
It’s always my intention to be finished 90 minutes before you’re due to leave, so there’s no frantic rush at the end. In those last precious moments, it also means I can focus on final tweaks, touch-ups, and important tasks like fitting your veil. If you’ve booked additional hours or invested in my Stay-All-Day Experience, I’ll be on hand until our agreed finish time.
