Marie's Stunning Seaside Wedding 22.07.18

A couple of weekends ago on a glorious sunny day in Whitstable, I turned up at the Hotel Continental to get Marie and her bridal party for her wedding at East Quay

When I met Marie back in May for her trial and she was explaining her vision for the day, I was so in love with the colour palette she had chosen; lemon yellow, coral reds and beachy blue seaside tones. It was so vibrant and colourful I could see it fitting in beautifully with the venue.

Marie and her family are French and when she was explaining how she took the Eurostar to Paris and met her parents before going to a Parisian Atelier to choose her wedding dress, it all sounded so dreamy!

Marie’s Laure De Sagazan dress was absolutely exquisite with the most beautiful lace panel at the back, so we opted for putting the hair up.

Marie has naturally wavy and very thick hair. I started by prepping Marie’s Hair with the Bumble & Bumble Curl range. I sprayed the prep spray through first, which is an anti-humidity spray that is ideal on such a warm day. I then tonged and set the hair to enhance the curl.

The hair was put up in a range of twists giving it an unusal edge to the classic Chignon. We finished the look with some beautiful flowers from Blubelle Creative

Marie Wanted to keep her make-up super lightweight and sheer, making a statement lip with a beautiful coral red. I started with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream, the consistency of this product enables me to really blend the foundation giving it that 'barely there' look. I used the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, which is such a sheer consistency it was ideal for Marie.

I corrected and concealed in the usual way using my BBU palette. I used the Becca Soft Light Blurring Powder in Golden Hour, this has the softest luminescent pigment in it to create a real glow.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shaddow in Bone was used as the base, and I then dusted the sheerest brown into the eye socket and buffed out with a bone coloured powder eye shadow. Marie doesn't usually wear Eye shadow so we kept it minimal, just enough definition in the end socket to help make the eye pop.

Bobbi Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar was used to create the finest flick before one coat of Black waterproof mascara was applied.

I applied 4 coats of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in Rhythm Red. I always allow about 15 mins for this process, I prep the lips with a concealer, liner is applied and a translucent powder is applied in between each coat of the lip colour, this gives it the longevity and prevents the colour from bleeding.

Lastly, I applied blush as I wanted to see how the bright lip affected the overall look. I opted for the sheerest Mac Nude Blush, and the smallest dusting of the colour "peaches" on the apples of the cheeks.

When Marie and I were chatting she said in France "if women don't naturally have it we don't fake it or try to add it in if its not there". I thought this was so refreshing, the overall look was truly elegant, the statement lip and the simplicity of the dress paired with the vibrancy of the flowers had such a mesmerising effect.
